Remove 'Registry Doktor' - Get Rid of Registry Doktor Quickly, Comrade! | ArticlesBase.com

What is Registry Doktor, anyway? This mispelled removal software (also known as Registry Doktor 3.0 and Registry Doktor 2009) is from the land of tasty sausages and great beer, Germany. Some German hacker has created this product to steal credit card numbers the land over, what an entrepreneur! All joking aside, Registry Doktor is a dangerous threat to the safety of your computer. It leaves your system wide open for intruders and additional trojan viruses. You must uninstall this software quickly before it causes you personal harm!

How Did I Get Infected With Registry Doktor?

A virus like this one infects your computer most usually through a link that was inadvertently clicked. This could have been in an e-mail, an instant message, a facebook or myspace page, or a sneaky re-direct. You also may have downloaded a corrupt file, such as a photo file, a music file, video file, or document. Whatever the case may be, you now have a dangerous program sitting on your computer that will be hard to remove.

What Are Signs of Infection?

Most commonly your computer's resources will be hogged by the program, which will make everything you do take longer than it should. It's a real waste of your time and productivity. Additionally, your internet surfing will be interrupted with pop-ups and pop-unders, and you will have frightening warning messages jumping up at you from your taskbar, urging you to run the particular spyware. The goal of the software is to scare you into purchasing a "full" version and then stealing your credit card information. Buy a weinerschnitzel instead, this software is worthless!

How Do I Get Rid of Registry Doktor?

There are two methods. The manual way and the automatic way. First - if you want to try and remove it manually (and I only recommend this to IT Professionals!) you must disable all related system processes, adjust all related system DLL files and registry files in the LOCAL_HKEY_USER folder, block all related websites, and delete all program files with the registrydoktor name. Add/Remove programs will not work for you, unfortunately, as this virus will mutate itself. The worst news of all is that if you miss one single registry file, the virus can re-install itself at the next restart, rendering all your hours of effort naught.

Automatic Removal. It's What I Choose.

The risks of manual removal make automatic removal an easy decision for me. I don't have enough time in the day to manually remove every infection that I come across; it's way too time consuming, and risky. It's easy to miss a file if you're not careful, and it's easy to adjust the wrong file and be left with a paperweight for a computer.

Had enough of threats like these from sneaky hackers? Want to protect your credit card information? Get rid of Registry Doktor by using a program like Spyware Doctor by PCTools or Anti Virus PLUS by Paretologic. If your system is infected, I urge you to scan with either of these two powerhouses and see exactly what is hiding in your system.
About the Author:

Bob Walker is a veteran IT consultant with over twenty years of experience in the industry.
